Jena Malone in Swallowed out in UK 24th April 2023

Not All What It Seems In UK Trailer For Queer Horror Swallowed

Not all what it seems in the UK Trailer for Queer horror Swallowed. Blue Finch Film Releasing is a horror nightmare about drugs, bugs and the extremes we are willing to endure to protect the ones we love.

The Ruins director Carter Smith directs and stars Jena Malone. This one follows two friends go out on a night together before one of them heads to the bright lights of Los Angeles to pursue a new career. When the pair are pulled into a drug run things take a drastic turn into something more disturbing and lurid.

The film recently just played BFI Flare, also FrightFest, Fantasia Film Festival and The Overlook Film Festival which we watched the film at in 2022. Our genre editor Bradley Hadcroft watched the film giving it 4 stars, “Swallowed is an exploitation film, but you get the impression it is exploring the concept, in more ways than one, with a credible agenda other than lurid perving“.

You can read Bradley’s full review clicking on the link below. This is body horror at it’s best!

Benjamin and Dom have been best friends since they were kids – and Benjamin has been in love with Dom for almost that long. But Benjamin is heading to sunny Los Angeles to pursue a new career. Fearing the worst for his friend in the cutthroat city, Dom concocts a plan to make Benjamin some quick cash. All they have to do is a quick drug run across the border.

But all is not what it seems, as the bags of drugs they swallow for their smuggling trip turn out to be something far more deadly and disturbing than they ever could have imagined.

The film also stars Mark Patton, Cooper Koch, and Jose Colon. Blue Finch Film Releasing will release Swallowed in the UK and Ireland on Digital Download from 24th April.
