A.V Rockwell’s A Thousand And One Gets A UK Trailer

Spring time is here and big studios like to release there lesser known but award winning film’s like A Thousand And One. Today Universal Pictures have released A.V Rockwell‘s film’s UK Trailer.

The film Rockwell‘s debut feature which made it’s world premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. It left the festival as the Grand Jury Prize winner and Universal Pictures picking up the film’s rights.

The film tries to answer some hard hitting questions especially about foster care and the institutions the children live in them. Any cinephile knows not every film is there to entertain, it’s also there to inform and give the viewer an experience.

Teyana Taylor stars as Inez, a free spirited woman who kidnaps her 6 year old son from the foster care system. Both start reclaim their home and identity in the ever changing New York City.

it’s a shame a lot of people will always go for the blockbuster or comic book option. It’s good to watch something different you might be surprised, you may enjoy that film. This looks intimate, personal drama I would not at all be surprised be in the running for future awards.

Sundance Grand Jury Prize Winner A THOUSAND AND ONE, is the debut feature from filmmaker AV Rockwell. A THOUSAND AND ONE follows unapologetic and free-spirited Inez (Teyana Taylor), who kidnaps her six-year-old son Terry from the foster care system. Holding onto their secret and each other, mother and son set out to reclaim their sense of home, identity, and stability, in a rapidly changing New York City.

The film also stars Aaron Kingsley Adetola, Aven Courtney, Josiah Cross, William Catlett, Terri Abney, Delissa Reynolds, Amelia Workman, and Adriane Lenox.  A Thousand And One will get a UK and Irish cinema release from 21st April.
