2023 is only a few weeks away and the festival circuit will start once again. Sundance Film Festival is one of the big festivals and Cat Person will make it’s world premiere there. Studiocanal will be releasing the film in the UK and today we get a first look at a couple of the images.
The genre bending thriller is directed by Susanna Fogel (The Flight Attendant, The Wilds). CODA star Emilia Jones leads the cast in a story of young woman who is dating a older man. However the flirty man she chatted to online doesn’t seem to be the same in person.
The film also stars Nicholas Braun (Succession, Zola), Geraldine Viswanathan (Untitled Ethan Coen Project, The Beanie Bubble, The Broken Hearts Gallery), Hope Davis (Your Honor), Fred Melamed (A Serious Man), Liza Koshy (Liza on Demand), Michael Gandolfini (The Many Saints of Newark) and Isabella Rossellini (Joy).
When Margot (Emilia Jones), a college sophomore goes on a date with the older Robert (Nicholas Braun), she finds that IRL Robert doesn’t live up to the Robert she has been flirting with over texts. CAT PERSON is a razor-sharp exploration of the gender divide, the quagmire of navigating modern dating and the dangerous projections we make in our minds about the person at the other end of our phones.
There is no word on exactly when Studiocanal will release the film in 2023. They will release Cat Person in the UK, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
