One of our delights of this year’s BFI London Film Festival was Guillermo Del Toro‘s Pinocchio. In a few weeks you will be able to see yourself when Netflix release the stop animation. For now the streaming giants have released the official main Trailer.
People are sometimes afraid of what they don’t know. Del Toro‘s animation is co-directed with animator Mark Gustafson reinventing Carlo Collodi‘s classic tale. A tale of wooden boy, who dreams of becoming a real boy. A toy looking for his place in the world, whilst helping mending the heart of his ‘father’ Geppetto.
Our titular character is voiced by Gregory Mann. David Bradley voices Gepetto and Cricket by Ewan McGregor (the narrator of the trailer). The trailer teases that Dark Fantasy fairy tale promised and what we expect from the Mexican filmmaker.
Our writer Freda Cooper watched the film the film for us at BFI London Film Festival. She gave it a 5 star review describing the film was a “whole new style of magic, one that can’t help but give you a lump in the throat“. You can read Freda‘s full review clicking on the link below the trailer…
