Next week the 75th Edinburgh Film Festival, the world’s longest running running film fest will take place. One of those films making it’s Michelle Savill’s dramedy that’s already played SXSW and Berlin.

Millie Lies Low follows Millie (Ana Scotney) who is an grad Architecture student whose landed  a prestigious scholarship. That position is in New York, however she’s missed her flight from Auckland, New Zealand . Anxiety has been plaguing Millie and decides to keep a low profile and pretend she’s in the Big Apple.  In hope of funding a new ticket, however keeping those loved ones in the dark sees her life crumble.

This is Savill’s directorial feature debut, looks promising fun film.

Funny and moving in equal measure, Millie Lies Low is a heart-warming, unmissable comedy drama featuring rising star Ana Scotney (The Breaker Upperers). After missing her flight to a prestigious internship, an anxiety-ridden architecture grad fakes being in New York while lying low in her hometown scrounging for another ticket. Millie Lies Low is directed by Michelle Savill (Ellen is Leaving) produced by Desray Armstrong (Coming Home in the Dark) and Angela Littlejohn (Expired) and also starring Rachel House (Thor: Ragnarok, Hunt for the Wilderpeople).

Millie Lies Low will be released in the UK on Digital Platforms 22nd August by Signature Entertainment. If you can make Edinburgh Film Festival, the film make it’s UK Premiere on 15th August.
