Bella Ramsey Has Wings In Catherine Called Birdy Trailer

Don’t call her Me Lady. In Lena Dunham‘s Catherine Called Birdy official Trailer, Bella Ramsey has her wings.

For fans of Game Of Thrones she was Lyanna Mormont. Now she is the titular lead role in the film based on the popular Karen Cushman books. This role looks a lot a whole new ball game one again set in Medieval England, the year 1290. Ramsey is the youngest daughter of a noble family. Her father wants to present his daughter to potential suitors , Catherine comes up with innovative ways to put them off.

After weeks of teasing , we finally get a look at what we can expect. We can clearly say this looks better than expected.

The year? 1290. In the Medieval English village of Stonebridge, Lady Catherine (known as Birdy) is the youngest child of Lord Rollo and the Lady Aislinn. Her playground is Stonebridge Manor, a house that, like the family, has seen better days. Financially destitute and utterly greedy, Rollo sees his daughter as his path out of financial ruin by marrying her off to a wealthy man for money and land. But Birdy, like all the great teen heroines, is spirited, clever, and adventurous and ready to put off any suitor that comes calling in increasingly ingenious ways. Her imagination, defiance, and deep belief in her own right to independence put her on a collision course with her parents. When the vilest suitor of all arrives, they are presented with the ultimate test of love for their daughter.

The cast for this one also includes Billie Piper, Andrew Scott, Joe Alwyn, Ralph Ineson, and Dean-Charles Chapman.

Catherine Called Birdy will make it’s world premiere at Toronto Film Festival.  It will arrive in select UK, Irish and U.S Cinemas from 23rd September. Then heads to Prime Video on 7th October.
