Boutique streaming service MUBI explores the global fascination that is Burning Man, through cinema, with their new season Radical Visions: Burning Man. The documentaries now showing in the US, UK and Ireland include Juicy Danger Meets Burning Man (David Vaisbord, 1998), Burning Man: Beyond Black Rock (Damon Brown, 2005), Burning Man: Voyage in Utopia (Laurent Le Gall, 2007).
As an official supporter of Chatsworth House’s new Burning Man exhibition in England, MUBI curated a trio of festival documentaries guaranteed to take you right into the eye of the dust storm. Focused on the hard work and community-building of a group of die-hard “Burners,” the films immerse us in the throng of the festival, capturing the human stories of those who choose to make Burning Man their home—if only for a week. These films celebrate the artistic, creative, and even spiritual visions of people operating outside of mainstream society, celebrating their year-round commitment to creating and upholding Burning Man’s values. If you can’t get a plane ticket to Nevada, then why not dive into these raucous festival films.
Radical Visions: Burning Man programming is available to watch on MUBI throughout June and beyond. Chatsworth House’s new Burning Man exhibition is on now until October 2022, visit here for more information
