Samuel L. Jackson stars as animated Samurai in family buddy film with Michael Cera

Samuel L.Jackson not letting rip his trademark F-Bombs? Yes that film is SKY Original animated adventure Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank. Today SKY have released the the official UK Trailer as he shows the way of the Samurai to an a feline impersonating dog called Hank!

Michael Cera is our titular character Hank a bullied dog who is need of guidance to become a samurai warrior. He gets that guidance from the renowned but reclusive samurai Jimbo (Jackson), who has fallen on hard times. Hank’s town is under threat, it is however a town full of cats!

This animated comedy is inspired by the classic Mel Brooks Blazing Saddles, ironically Brooks is one of the voices. So expect a lot of fart jokes and kids love those jokes.

Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank is an action-packed animated comedy for all the family inspired by Mel Brooks’ timeless classic, Blazing Saddles. Hank (Cera), a scrappy dreamer of a dog, aspires to one day be a bonafide Samurai. But in a world of cats, he’s not sure it’ll ever happen – that is until the nefarious warlord, Ika Chu (Gervais), hustles the unwitting Hank into becoming the samurai for the town of Kakamucho; the same town Ika Chu intends to pillage.

The animation also stars the voices of Ricky Gervais (After Life), Mel Brooks (Blazing Saddles), Djimon Hounsou (How to Train Your Dragon 2), George Takei (Star Trek), Michelle Yeoh(Crazy Rich Asians) and Kylie Kuioka. The film is directed by Rob Minkoff (The Lion King) and Mark Koetsier (How To Train Your Dragon), written by Nate Hopper (The Grinch).

Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank doesn’t have a confirmed UK or Irish cinema release just yet. SKY have said it will be released during the Summer on SKY Cinema.
