Fire will reign and it will this August as SKY announce the eagerly anticipated Game Of Thrones prequel series House Of The Dragon will launch Monday 22nd August on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW.
Superfans will not miss out on the global excitement with each instalment available at the same time as the US premiere each week and on demand thereafter. HBO Max will air the ten-episode series Stateside from Sunday 21st August.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood and set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series tells the story of House Targaryen.

The cast includes Matt Smith (Daemon Targaryen), Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen), Eve Best (Rhaenys Velaryon) Paddy Considine (Viserys Targaryen), Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower), David Horovitch (Grand Maester Mellos), Jefferson Hall (Lord Jason Lannister), Fabien Frankel (Criston Cole), Matthew Needham (Larys Strong), Bill Paterson (Lord Lyman Beesbury), Sonoya Mizuno (Mysaria), and Steve Toussaint (Lord Corlys Velaryon).
Additional cast includes Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, Savannah Steyn.
Ryan Condal (Colony, Game Of Thrones, Rampage) will be the showrunner, with RR Martin onboard as executive producer. Miguel Sapochnik is also onboard as a co-showrunner and will direct several episodes including the pilot episode.
House Of The Dragon will premiere on Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK and Ireland from 22nd August. The show will also be available in all Sky markets Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
