When it comes to North and Korea together, it’s usually in some shape of conflict. Would you believe there was one time they were together? Next month Signature Entertainment will release Korean survival thriller Escape From Mogadishu, today you can enjoy the nail-biting UK Trailer!
Last year, Seung-wan Ryu‘s (Veteran) political thriller was one of South Korea’s big box office hits. It has toured the film festival circuit most of last year gathering some solid reviews, now it’s time it hits these shores. The film is based on a true story, we find ourselves in Mogadishu, Somalia. The country comes ravished in civil war which finds diplomats from both the North and South Korea left with no support from their governments. The only way for them to survive is to unite together.

Escape from Mogadishu is a nail-biting political thriller based on a true story and starring Kim Yoon-seok (The Chaser) and Huh Joon-ho (Netflix’s Kingdom). Rival diplomats from North Korea and South Korea become trapped as civil war rages in Mogadishu, Somalia. With no aid from either government, their only shot at survival requires uniting with bitter adversaries to escape. This record-breaking Asian blockbuster is South Korea’s entry for the 2022 Oscars, and was the opening film at this year’s London Korean Film Festival. Escape from Mogadishu was written and directed by Seung-wan Ryu (Veteran) with additional writing from Ki-cheol Lee (Assassination).
The film stars Kim Yoon-seok, Huh Joon-ho, Zo In-sung, Koo Kyo-hwan, Joung Man-sik, and Kim So-jin.
Escape from Mogadishu will be released in UK and Irish Cinemas and on Digital Platforms by Signature Entertainment from 25th March.
