You could say this is 21 years in the making, later this month Netflix will release the 3 part Kayne West Documentary jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy. Tonight the streaming channel have released the film’s official Trailer hinting the most intimate revealing film to date on West.

Netflix are calling these parts as ‘acts’ with the first one that premiered at last month’s Sundance Film Festival. West has been in the news recently unfortunately for him, the wrong reasons with his divorce with Kim Kardashian. Did he cheat on Kardashian, both considered a power couple by mainstream media, this film however will focus on the artist.

Twenty-one years ago, Clarence ‘Coodie’ Simmons met Kanye West and saw something so special that he moved from Chicago to New York City to document Ye’s journey to become the next great rapper. Neither of them had any idea where just how far that journey would take them.

I’m no fan of hip-hop/rap, I do know Kanye is a megastar amongst the genre. Sometimes these films help you appreciate the mindset, work ethic of the person(s) in question. Going by this trailer, Kayne West was certainly ‘different’ according to the people around him brave enough to talk. Regardless what you think of West he’s went through a lot to make the way to the top, now did Mr.West ask for a say in the final edit?

A landmark documentary event presented in three acts from Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah, jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy is an intimate and revealing portrait of Kanye West’s experience, showcasing both his formative days trying to break through and his life today as a global brand and artist.

jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy will premiere globally on Netflix from 16th February.
