The love story is never the whole story, especially when it comes to erotic psychological thriller Deep Water. Today as you know is considered one of the ‘most romantic’ days of the year, Valentines Day and Prime Video release a little present in the shape of the film’s UK Trailer.
When it comes to erotic thrillers, there is one director who knows a thing or two about them, that’s Adrian Lyne. The film marks the British filmmaker’s first directorial film in 20 years following the worldwide success of his previous films including Indecent Proposal, Unfaithful and Fatal Attraction.
The film stars Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas and is based on the Patricia Highsmith 1957 novel of the same name. About an well off couple who find themselves in a loveless marriage who agree on a plan to prevent a messy divorce. They allow one another to have affairs spiral out of control and take a dramatic murderous turn.
This film was originally set for release by 20th Century Studios, a few months ago it disappeared off their schedule. Months later now coming to streaming services, the trailer does well to capture not all is well in this marriage. It’s also a bit naughty too!
Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas star as Vic and Melinda Van Allen, an affluent New Orleans couple whose marriage is crumbling under the weight of resentment, jealousy, and mistrust. As their mutual provocations and mind games escalate, things quickly turn into a deadly game of cat and mouse as Melinda’s extramarital dalliances start going missing. With sizzling and complex performances from Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas and helmed by one of the most celebrated filmmakers of the genre, Deep Water marks the return of the A-list erotic thriller, grabbing your attention from the start and refusing to let go as you discover just how far a person will go.
The film also stars Tracy Letts, Rachel Blanchard, Dash Mihok, Lil Rel Howery, Jacob Elordi, Finn Wittrock, and Kristen Connolly.
Deep Water will be released in the UK and Ireland on Prime Video from 18th March. If you live in the U.S and Canada, the film will be released the same day but on Hulu.
