Watch The UK Trailer For Jockey Starring Clifton Collins Jr

Sony Pictures Releasing have released the UK Trailer for horseracing drama Jockey starring Clifton Collins Jr.

The film originally premiered at Sundance Film Festival last year with Collins Jr winning a Special Jury Award for his role in the film. This film unearths an intense look into the pressures of horseracing and from an veteran jockey.

This film comes from first time filmmaker Clint Bentley in which Collins Jr plays an ageing jockey Jackson Silva determined to give his trainer one final title. However the years are taking toll on his body forcing him to question his ability. Things get more complicated when a young rookie rider arrives on the scene claiming to be his son.

Don’t expect a fast pace film, this one looks to focus on the drama. A bit like Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler, we won’t go as far as saying this is just as good as Aronofsky’s film. It certainly looks a career best from Clifton Collins Jr...

An aging jockey (Clifton Collins Jr.), hopes to win one last title for his longtime trainer (Molly Parker), who has acquired what appears to be a championship horse. But the years – and injuries – have taken a toll on his body, throwing into question his ability to continue his lifelong passion. And the arrival of a young rookie rider (Moises Arias), who claims to be his son, and whom he takes under his wing, further complicates the path to fulfilling his dream.

Instilled with an immediately engaging realism by filmmakers Clint Bentley and Greg Kwedar, JOCKEY takes audiences inside the “backside” of racetrack life in a way no other film has. Filmed at a live racetrack in Arizona, and featuring real jockeys, JOCKEY reveals the true rider experience – real life, behind the track.

This film also stars Molly Parker, Moises Arias, Logan Cormier, and Colleen Hartnett.

Jockey will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 4th February.
