The Godfather Heading Back To Cinemas For 50th Anniversary !

Many people these days easily call new films ‘masterpieces’, some of them might earn the right. One film that has earned it’s right Francis Ford Coppola‘s The Godfather and in February it’s heading back to UK and Irish Cinemas!

The return to cinemas is to celebrate the classic film it’s 50th Anniversary. with the the trilogy getting a 4K restoration Box set which will be released in March.

Coppola’s masterful film adaptation of Mario Puzo’s novel chronicles the rise and fall of the Corleone family and the film trilogy is rightfully viewed as one of the greatest in cinematic history. The amazing cast includes Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, John Cazale, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Sterling Hayden, Richard Conte, Talia Shire, Abe Vigoda and Al Lettieri.

Newly restored and remastered in Dolby Vision, all three films in the landmark trilogy will be released together with HDR-10 on 4K Ultra HD Digital and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray™ for the first time ever. The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray™ set will include The Godfather, The Godfather: Part II, and Coppola’s recently re-edited version of the final film, Mario Puzo’s THE GODFATHER, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone. The disc set includes legacy commentaries by Coppola, plus special features on a Blu-ray™ disc. (The DVD Collection will get updated to Mario Puzo’s THE GODFATHER, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone, replacing The Godfather III).

The Godfather 50th Anniversary edition will be released ins elect UK ,Irish cinemas and U.S  from 25th February. The Trilogy box set will be available on 4K Ultra HD for the first time ever on 21st March.
