Streaming service Starzplay have announced today that the post-apocalyptic limited series Station Eleven is set for release in the UK and Ireland from January.

The ten-episode series is based on the 2014 international bestseller of the same name by Emily St. John Mandel. The series stars Mackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate), Himesh Patel (Eastenders, Yesterday, Tenet). The series will follow a multigenerational story, a post apocalyptic story of the survivors of a devasting flu. There attempts to rebuild the world whilst attempting hold onto their past.

How terrifying is it, 7 years after the book was released we are still in the middle of a world pandemic. We may not be at the total breakdown of society but the sense dread, fear lingers that this could become reality.

There is no official Trailer yet from Starzplay just yet. However if you live in the USA HBO Max are releasing the series (16th December). In the trailer below we get a glimpse of the ‘flu’ ravaging across the world, this does feel slightly different from other PA films and shows. This looks to have a bit of moral backbone and attempts decipher what went wrong during rebuilding. Check out the trailer…

Spanning multiple timelines, “Station Eleven” tells the stories of survivors of a devastating flu as they attempt to rebuild and reimagine the world anew while holding on to the best of what’s been lost.

The series also stars Daniel Zovatto, David Wilmot, Matilda Lawler, Lori Petty, Nabhaan Rizwan, and Philippine Velge, with Gael Garcìa Bernal and Danielle Deadwyler.

Station Eleven will premiere on Starzplay from 30th January 2022, in the UK and Ireland. As well as Austria, Germany, Luxembourg and German-speaking Switzerland.
