In the full Trailer for Apple TV+ upcoming crime comedy The Afterparty, there’s been a murder! Everybody hates Xavier, whose the killer?
If you’re going to get something that’s being described as a ‘genre-bending’ event, Chris Miller and Phil Lord are you guys. No need for any Ghostface killer masks. just 8 potential suspects with there back stories, alibis, reasons ut whodunnit?
Step forward Detective Danner aka Tiffany Haddish who has 8 episodes to decide who the killer is. Each episode will be each one of the party attendees account of the fateful evening in question, all through the lens of popular film genres and unique visuals to match the storyteller’s perspective.
The ‘suspects’ for this series will be Sam Richardson, Ben Schwartz, Ilana Glazer, Ike Barinholtz, Zoe Chao, and Jamie Demetriou. Dave Franco also stars as the victim Xavier.
When you look back at all the films Lord and Miller have been involved in, all a success critically and even at the box office. You have hope this series will be mentioned with the likes of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Lego Movie,21 Jump Street. We have hope, expect action and even musical episodes!
The Afterparty is a murder-mystery comedy set at a high school reunion afterparty. Each of the eight episodes will feature a retelling of the same night told through a different character’s perspective, each with its own unique visual format and film genre to match the teller’s personality.
The Afterparty will premiere worldwide on Apple TV+ from 28th January 2022. Starting with the first three episodes of an eight episode series with a new episode every Friday after that.
