Trailer For Cult Slasher Remake Slumber Party Massacre

When it comes to remakes, reboots not every so called ‘classic’ will get the big major studio treatment. That doesn’t mean that film will be bad and the remake of Roger Corman’s 1982 Slumber Party Massacre is the latest to be rebooted.

Later this month the film will get it’s digital release and tonight Lightbulb Film Distribution release the gory UK Trailer. The film is directed by Danishka Esterhazy (Level 16, The Banana Splits Movie) and being called feminist reimagining of the Corman’s cult slasher. The original film was also party of a trilogy of films with Sorority House Massacre and Cheerleader Massacre.

I’m an horror fan, not a fan of slashers. However this film first premiered back at Fantastic Film Fest and got some very positive reviews. The film was ahead of it’s time delivering a horror from a female perspective, ticking all the boxes for what you expect from the sub genre.

As for the actual story a group of young college women decide to hold a ‘slumber party’ only to find that party disrupted by an psychopath. Nostalgic and how modern reimaging this film will be, only time will tell…

A slumber party turns into a bloodbath when a psychopath wielding a power-drill disrupts the fun. There really is no rest for the wicked at this slumber party…

The cast includes Hannah Gonera, Frances Sholto-Douglas, Alex McGregor, Reze-Tiana Wessels, Mila Rayne.

Slumber Party Massacre will be released on Digital formats from 28th November first, then on 19th January 2022 on DVD.
