If you think John Wick: Parabellum was the only time Halle Berry kicked some ass, think again. Next month on Netflix Berry will kick ass again as a down on her luck MMA fighter in Bruised. The streaming giants have released the official Trailer for the sports drama about a fighter who reclaims her power.
Berry may not be the first name that comes to mind when it comes to Mixed Martial Arts based film. Monsters Ball, Cloud Atlas films not short of action with plenty of drama. This film also marks her directorial feature debut next to leading the cast. The film plays on the underdog storyline which we may have seen many times beofre, however that doesn’t mean to say this won’t be good.
In this one she plays Jackie Justice a one time MMA fighter who leaves the sport disgracefully. From stardom to living homeless, she is offered a road back to the Octagon via the brutal underground fighting. When the road back to recovery the son she gave up turns up on her doorstep.

But the road to redemption becomes unexpectedly personal when Manny (Danny Boyd Jr.) — the son she gave up as an infant — shows up at her doorstep. BRUISED marks the directorial debut of Academy Award winner Halle Berry and also stars Adriane Lenox, Sheila Atim, Valentina Shevchenko, and Stephen McKinley Henderson in a triumphant story of a fighter who reclaims her power, in and out of the ring, when everyone has counted her out.
