Witness the beginning of evil when the action horror reboot of the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil: Welcome To Racoon City, arrives in UK Cinemas. A new cast, new director are in place and Sony Pictures want to ensure us this version will be completely different from the Milia Jovovich version. Today we get a look at a new behind the scenes Featurette ‘welcome to Racoon City‘ reminding us the game version comes first this time.
In this new ‘Origins’ vignette/Featurette, director Johannes Roberts teases the film’s introduction to the iconic characters and world of Raccoon City, and the astonishing level of faithful detail and design that brings to life the new action-horror based on the iconic video game franchise.
Returning to the origins of the massively popular RESIDENT EVIL franchise, fan and filmmaker Johannes Roberts brings the games to life for a whole new generation of fans. In RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY, once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.
The film stars Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield, Tom Hopper as Albert Wesker and Avan Jogia as Leon S. Kennedy, with Donal Logue and Neal McDonough.
Resident Evil: Welcome To Racoon City was originally stating the UK and Irish cinema release date was to be 3rd December. It seems that date has now changed to ‘Coming Soon’.
