It’s been a long time since Bayhem havoc in our cinemas and pain for those critics. After milking the Transformers franchise, the post Autobot days are here and today Universal Pictures have released the UK Trailer for Ambulance. When three lives change forever, all thanks to a heist too good to resist…What could go wrong?

Thanks to the never ending Transformers franchise, it’s hard to see the Baymeister directing anything other than something with giant robots fighting in it. The few films he has done he has had relative success such as The Rock, Bad Boys, Pain & Gain could this be the fourth one?

This one is based on the 2005 Danish film directed by Laurits Munch-Petersen called Ambulancen. Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, an army vet who is desperate to pay for the medical bills for his ill wife. He turns to his foster brother Danny (Jake Gyllenhaal) a criminal for help and the pair embark on the most ambitious heist in history.

Checklists at the ready, this one from the trailer ticks all the boxes for a Michael Bay film. Explosives, over the top, brainless hopefully fun!

Over one day across the streets of L.A., three lives will change forever.

In this breakneck thriller from director-producer Michael Bay, decorated veteran Will Sharp (Emmy winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Candyman, The Matrix Resurrections), desperate for money to cover his wife’s medical bills, asks for help from the one person he knows he shouldn’t—his adoptive brother Danny (Oscar® nominee Jake Gyllenhaal, Zodiac, Spider-Man: Far From Home). A charismatic career criminal, Danny instead offers him a score: the biggest bank heist in Los Angeles history: $32 million. With his wife’s survival on the line, Will can’t say no.

But when their getaway goes spectacularly wrong, the desperate brothers hijack an ambulance with a wounded cop clinging to life and ace EMT Cam Thompson (Eiza González, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Baby Driver) onboard. In a high-speed pursuit that never stops, Will and Danny must evade a massive, city-wide law enforcement response, keep their hostages alive, and somehow try not to kill each other, all while executing the most insane escape L.A. has ever seen.

The film also stars Eiza González, Devan Long, Keir O’Donnell, Moses Ingram, Colin Woodell, and Garrett Dillahunt. Ambulance doesn’t have an exact UK or Irish cinema release date, apart from ‘February 2022‘. Though 18th February 2022 is being quoted for the U.S. release, so expect the same or similar release date.
