Watch Awesome New The French Dispatch Animated Music Video

In exactly 4 weeks time Wes Anderson‘s  The French Dispatch will finally arrive in a cinema near you. It’s been a long time coming and we’re eager to see the film on the big screen. You don’t need us to tell you when it comes to attention for detail, Mr Anderson likes his finer things. Not just the look but also the sounds and today we have gorgeously awesome animated music video from the film.

The song is called ‘Aline‘ which is an impassioned cover of 1960’s French pop of the song the same which features former Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker, originally written and recorded by French pop icon Christophe. The song is part of the film’s score which has been produced by Wes Anderson  regular composer Alexandre Desplat.

Cocker himself has also created an album which is a companion piece to the film score called Chansons d’Ennui.  A tribute to French pop music featuring artists like Françoise Hardy, Serge Gainsbourg, Brigitte Bardot and Jacques Dutronc. Both Albums set for release on the same day as the film in October.

Aline is wonderfully illustrated by Javi Aznarez, with Cocker as the character Tiptop with the story of the video connecting with the stories we’ll enjoy in the film…

If you missed the film’s official Trailer which was released earlier in the summer, check it out below. It’s been a while and if your a Anderson fan your grin will be as big as the Forth Road Bridge!
