Listen Carefully Watch Trailer For The Guilty

Jake Gyllenhaal stars In Antoine Fuqua’s English Remake Of Danish Oscar nominated Thriller

You know how we love the fantastic films that come under the umbrella of ‘world cinema’. It’s wonderful diverse range of films and it’s only the matter of time Hollywood comes calling with a English language remake. The latest film to join the ranks of remake will be The Guilty starring Jake Gyllenhaal, now we have the official Trailer.

The film stars Gyllenhaal as Joe Baylor, a call operator at a 911 Dispatch call centre in one single day. The day starts normal for Joe, call after call things take a drastic turn for him. When he tries to save a caller who seems to be in grave danger , only to discover not all what it seems.

The original film was released in 2018 and premiered at Sundance Film Festival also called ‘The Guilty‘ (or Den Skyldige it’s original Danish title) with Jakob Cedergren in lead role. The film garnered fantastic reviews which earned the film awards recognition including nominations at the Oscars. This film doesn’t go for shootings, fighting or car chases for those thriller elements. Instead we get tension, atmosphere and an actor who command his or hers screen presence which Jake Gyllenhaal can do.

This film looks like it will stay true to it’s original film origins and hopefully those twists too. All will be revealed next week when the film premieres at Toronto Film Festival.

The film takes place over the course of a single morning in a 911 dispatch call centre. Call operator Joe Baylor (Gyllenhaal) tries to save a caller in grave danger—but he soon discovers that nothing is as it seems, and facing the truth is the only way out.

Majority of the cast we will only hear them voice only and that cast includes: Ethan Hawke, Peter Sarsgaard, Riley Keough, Paul Dano, Byron Bowers, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, David Castaneda, Christina Vidal, Adrian Martinez, Bill Burr, Beau Knapp, and Edi Patterson.

The Guilty will be released on Netflix from 1st October.
