James Wan Examines His Horror Roots In Malignant Featurette

Today Warner Bros Pictures release horror Malignant , the film that marks James Wan’s return to the director chair for an horror. After giving us Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring horror fans will be intrigued to see what the Australian filmmaker has in store. If we go with the aforementioned films we will be looking forward to the final outcome.

This one stars Annabelle Wallis who plays Madison a woman who is tormented by shocking visions of brutal murders. Things get worse when she discovers those dreams are actually reality.

Warner Bros have sent us a new Featurette called ‘Horror Roots’. In this short promo, Wan talks about his roots in the genre and how it fits in this new film. For his new vision of ‘terror’ Wan explains “I wanted to do something that was a bit different, But yet hark back to my roots. You gotta take chances. If you don’t, you end up making the same old thing again and again and again. I think audiences are starved for something new and different.”

n the film, Madison is paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders, and her torment worsens as she discovers that these waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities.

The cast also includes Jake Abel, George Young, Jacqueline McKenzie, Mckenna Grace, Maddie Hasson, Ingrid Bisu, and Michole Briana White.

Malignant is in UK and Irish cinemas from today 10th September.
