Gerard Butler had to do what he had to do to get to Frank Grillo. Behold STX Films release the UK Trailer for Joe Carnahan‘s action comedy Copshop, someone gotta take the hit…step up Gerry!
Grillo is the one who seems to be the one hitmen are chasing as a wily con artist. Things get desperate when he deliberately gets himself arrested and locked up. Not even a police station can save him as Viddick (Butler) is also locked up in same jail too. When a rival hitman arrives, the shit hits the fan.
Here in the UK we’re still waiting for Boss Level release (unless you used a VPN) which Carnahan directed with Grillo. It’s now fast becoming Carnahan’s trademark action style we expect, some potential escapist fun, as for the comedic part of it, Ill judge that when I see the film.
Screaming through the Nevada desert in a bullet-ridden Crown Vic, wily con artist Teddy Murretto (Frank Grillo) hatches a desperate plan to hide out from lethal hitman Bob Viddick (Gerard Butler): He sucker-punches rookie officer Valerie Young (Alexis Louder) to get himself arrested and locked up in a small-town police station. But jail can’t protect Murretto for long. Viddick schemes his own way into detention, biding his time in a nearby cell until he can complete his mission. When the arrival of a competing assassin (Toby Huss) ignites all-out mayhem, mounting threats force Viddick to get creative if he wants to finish the job and escape the explosive situation.
The film also stars Toby Huss, Alexis Louder, Ryan O’Nan, Keith Jardine, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Robert Walker-Branchaud and Kaiwi Lyman. Copshop will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 10th September.
