For Denzel Washington‘s next film won’t be in front of the camera but behind it as Sony Pictures Releasing reveal the First Trailer for the actor’s directorial feature A Journal For Jordan. Starring Michael B.Jordan and Chanté Adams, the new trailer teases a heartfelt of once in a lifetime love and loss.

This film marks the actors 4th directorial feature with Fences his last attempt. The film is based on a true story of a soldier deployed to Iraq who decides to keep a journal of love and advice for his infant son.

It’s obvious this will be a tearjerker as there’s no spoiler in the outcome of the soldier. The film seems to focus on Jordan and Adams rather than the son whom the journal is for. The film is based on the book A Journal for Jordan: A Story of Love and Honor by Dana Canedy.

Directed by Denzel Washington and starring Michael B. Jordan with a screenplay by Virgil Williams, A JOURNAL FOR JORDAN is based on the true story of Sergeant Charles Monroe King (Jordan), a soldier deployed to Iraq who begins to keep a journal of love and advice for his infant son. Back at home, senior New York Times editor Dana Canedy (Chanté Adams) revisits the story of her unlikely, life-altering relationship with King and his enduring devotion to her and their child. A sweeping account of a once-in-a-lifetime love, the film is a powerful reminder of the importance of family and the all-too-human cost of war.

The film also stars Tamara Tunie, Robert Wisdom, Vanessa Aspillaga, and Jalon Christian.

A Journal For Jordan will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 21st January 2022.
