Watch Will Smith In King Richard First Trailer!

Smith the mentor, the father of Venus & Serena Williams in the story that promises to ‘inspire the world’

It’s been a long long time since we’ve had a decent Will Smith and King Richard might just be that ‘next’ film, could it be a Oscar winning one? Tonight Warner Bros Pictures have released the official first UK Trailer for the film that promises to ‘inspire the world’ whilst telling the story of the man who inspired Venus & Serena Williams!

Smith plays Richard Williams with Aunjanue Ellis as the parents of the sisters (played by Saniyya Sidney and Demi Singleton). Richards vision was clear methods may have not been tradition, he taught, mentored the sisters who became some of the greatest greatest tennis players. Most of all he was their father who helped his girls rise to the top.

Everyone likes a bit of inspiration and this one might just deliver some in these dark days.

Based on the true story that will inspire the world, Warner Bros. Pictures’ “King Richard follows the journey of Richard Williams, an undeterred father instrumental in raising two of the most extraordinarily gifted athletes of all time, who will end up changing the sport of tennis forever. Two-time Oscar nominee Will Smith (“Ali,” “The Pursuit of Happyness,” “Bad Boys for Life”) stars as Richard, under the direction of Reinaldo Marcus Green (“Monsters and Men”).

Driven by a clear vision of their future and using unconventional methods, Richard has a plan that will take Venus and Serena Williams from the streets of Compton, California to the global stage as legendary icons. The profoundly moving film shows the power of family, perseverance and unwavering belief as a means to achieve the impossible and impact the world.

The film also stars Jon Bernthal, Tony Goldwyn, Dylan McDermott, Susie Abromeit,  Noah Bean, Hannah Barefoot, Judith Chapman, Andy Bean, Katrina Begin.

King Richard will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on 19th November 2021.
