Watch New UK Trailer For Irish Indie Redemption of a Rogue

Ahead of it’s UK cinema release next month, Wildcard Distribution have sent us over the official UK Trailer for upcoming Irish comedy musical Redemption of a Rogue.

The film title sounds like it’s came straight from the pages of a Samuel Beckett play, ironically the film is directed by a playwright Philip Doherty. This is the directorial feature debut for the award winning playwright which last year made it’s premiere at Galway Film Fleadh where it picked up two major awards – Best Irish Film and Best Irish First Feature. Since then it has played around the world on the festival circuit including Glasgow Film Festival  and Kimolos International Film Festival in Greece, which Doherty picked up best director award.

This film stars Aaron Monaghan plays Jimmy who finds himself Groundhog Day-like purgatory. Now back in his hometown he finds himself on the bumpy road to redemption. Facing his guilt and past shames with his path taking him to love.

Irish and comedy are like ying and yang like two peas in a pod. The awards do all the talking check this one out if you can

The film follows Jimmy, played by Cavan native Aaron Monaghan (MAZE, Assassin’s Creed), on his road to redemption after returning to his hometown. Stuck in a Groundhog Day-like purgatory, Jimmy embarks on a sacrificial and outlandish journey to rid himself of his guilt and shame from the past, ultimately redeeming himself through love.

The film also stars Aisling O’Mara, Kieran Roche, Liz Fitzgibbon, Kevin McGahern, and Pat McCabe.

Redemption of a Rogue will be released in UK cinemas from 27th August.
