Growing Up Is A Beast In Pixar’s Turning Red Teaser Trailer

Growing up is a beast especially if your name is Mei Lee as your turn into a giant red panda! This afternoon Disney Pixar have unveiled the first Teaser trailer for Turning Red, just don’t get her anxious!

This film is the feature length directorial feature debut for director Domee Shi, who won an Oscar® for her 2018 short film, Bao. The film itself is still 8 months away and this little teaser is so much mayhem fuelled fun , most off all gorgeous looking. Shi is looking like another fine example of the talent Pixar working form them and pushing that talent up from storyboards to the directors.

This one Rosalie Chiang voices our heroine Mei Lei with Sandra Oh her over protective embarrassing mother. The actual trailer nor do Disney-Pixar unveil the film’s synopsis and why a 13 year old girl is a giant red panda. All we know is anxiety and excitement turns her into that panda. I’m sure people will refer this to the hulk, Jekyll and Mr.Hyde.

This teaser plays more like a scene, what we do get is a look at the styling, the humour and another reason why Pixar films should be witnessed on the big screen!

Young actress Rosalie Chiang lends her voice to Mei Lee, a 13-year-old who suddenly “poofs” into a giant red panda when she gets too excited (which is practically ALWAYS). Sandra Oh (“The Chair,” “Killing Eve”) voices Mei Lee’s protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming, who is never far from her daughter—an unfortunate reality for the teenager.

Turning Red will be released in UK, Irish and U.S cinemas from 11th March 2022.
