Boutique film distributor and global curated film streaming service MUBI has announced they have acquired all rights for Leos Carax’s Annette for the UK and Ireland, with the film in heading to cinemas in September.
Starring Adam Driver plays a stand up comedian Henry who lives in Los Angeles. He has a fierce sense of humour, has a girlfriend Ann (Marion Cotillard) who is a renown soprano singer. They are a glamourous couple and when the birth of their daughter Annette arrives their lives change forever.
Directed by Leos Carax (Holy Motors) Annette will open this year’s Cannes Film Festival which also stars, Simon Helberg (The Big Bang Theory) and Belgian singer-songwriter Angèle in her acting debut. The screenplay is written by Ron Mael and Russell Mael of Sparks, and the film also features songs from Sparks and music producer Marius de Vries (La La Land, Bohemian Rhapsody, Moulin Rouge).

Annette will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 3rd September, before heading to MUBI with a date still to be announced.
