John Malkovich, Lilly Krug and Frank Grillo are all set to star in action thriller, Shattered. The film is directed by directed by Luis Prieto (White Lines, Kidnap, Pusher).
Krug, plays con-artist Sky with Cameron Monaghan (Shameless), stars as Chris, the millionaire who falls in love with her. They are joined Sasha Luss (Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Anna) plays Chris’s ex-wife Jamie, Ash Santos (Joe Bell, Swing) plays Lisa, Sky’s ill-fated roommate and Ridley Bateman (Shelter In Place) plays Willow, Chris and Jamie’s young step-daughter.
Malkovich (The New Pope), will play Ronald, a creepy landlord whose curiosity overwhelms him, with Grillo ( Avengers; Endgame) as Sebastian, Sky’s violent, manipulative stepfather.

Divorcee Chris Decker is a wealthy venture capitalist who lives in a high-tech house of his own design in Montana, protected physically and emotionally from the outside world. His life changes when he meets Sky, a beautiful, mysterious young woman who draws him out of his shell. Love is in the air … or is it? After Chris is injured in a violent mugging, Sky moves in to take care of him, and her true agenda is soon revealed. Chris has become the victim of an elaborate heist and is suddenly a prisoner in his own home, cut off from help and at the mercy of a violent and psychologically disturbed killer, who intends to take everything from him – including his life. When Chris’s ex-wife and child show up, the stakes are heightened as the deadline to their collective death sentence becomes simultaneously shorter. The only guarantee of survival is to escape.
Written by Hollywood veteran David Loughery(The Intruder, Lakeview Terrace) , the film promises to keep the audience guessing as a boy-meets-girl romance unravels into a nightmare. Production has just wrapped in Montana, with much of the action taking place in the luxury surrounds of a mansion in the exclusive Big Sky ski resort.
Loughery commented: “It’s been a pleasure to work with such a talented team. Our goal from the start was to make a film that will keep the audience in suspense from start to finish, with a lot of shocks and surprises along the way.”
Malkovich is onboard also as a producer and said “The opportunity to come on board as a producer alongside Veronica, Claudia and Luis was not to be missed, and I’m so happy to have been able to support an emerging talent as exciting as Lilly in her first leading role. Working with Luis was an absolute pleasure; he’s a filmmaker with true independent spirit and the footage looks like a modern-day Misery meeting A Simple Favor”.
Director Luis Prieto added: “From the moment I read the script, I loved the creative challenges and opportunities that SHATTERED presented. To take the audience on the journey from a romance film at the start to an all-out thriller by the story’s conclusion, was a big attraction for me, and when talent of the level of John and Frank came in to support Lilly and Cameron, I knew we could have a special movie.”
Shattered is now in post-production, with expected completion in Autumn 2021.
