Your life belongs to the machines as Signature Entertainment release the UK Trailer for Noah Hutton‘s indie sci-fi drama, Lapsis.
At the end of 2020 Noah Hutton‘s intriguing sci-fi caught our attention and 6 months on we’re weeks away from it’s UK and Irish release. It was a film with a message that resonates globally, the gig economy or here in the UK refers to people on Zero Hours contracts, slaves to the system. I have been there myself been there which I have no desire to return to.
So what’s this film all about? It’s set in an alternate present day New York where a new quantum tech industry is on the look for the labour of independent contractors, called “cablers,” who are forced to compete against robots to pull wires over rough terrain.
This looks nuts , but gets my thumbs up highlighting what I would call another name for ‘slave labour’.
