Whose the daddy? Rupert Evans is! Netflix have announced The Man In The High Castle star is joining Shondaland and joining the cast for Bridgerton Season 2.
Rupert Evans will play the patriarch of the titular family, Edmund Bridgerton. Edmund is a loving and devoted husband, whose true love match with Violet Bridgerton gave them eight perfect children. He’s also an endlessly patient and kind father, who takes special pride in guiding his eldest son Anthony through life.
Season 2 is currently filming in London and will be keeping with the novels. It will be telling a new romance story, this time it’s all about Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), the family’s eldest son’s quest for love.
The first season show has never explained anything Edmund’s death. In Julia Quinn‘s novels they explain Edmund died due to a an allergic reaction to a bee sting, which was teased at the end of the Season 1 finale.
The other question that will be asked, will there be an actress cast to play a young violet? What we do know is her character will be explored in the recently announced spin-off which will also appear an young Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury.
If anyone else will join Edmund, we can easily say we will meet him in flashbacks.
Rupert Evans will be known for his role as Frank Fink in The Man In The High Castle. Currently he’s a season regular in the rebooted version of Charmed as Harry Greenwood. He has also starred in a host of films including Guillermo Del Toro‘s Hellboy film as FBI agent John Myers.
