Knives Out 2 might be stealing the majority of the limelight, when it comes to casting news. Today Indiana Jones 5 has been able to squeeze in some news about their casting with Boyd Holbrook and Shaunette Renée Wilson.
Holbrook and Wilson will be joining Harrison Ford with Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen already onboard. James Mangold is set to direct this sequel who has work with Holbrook on Logan, Wilson was in Black Panther, Billions and The Resident.
Deadline broke the news and at this stage we don’t know what roles the pair are playing. Same can be said about Waller-Bridge and Mikkelsen characters, our bets are on that the Danish actor will be the film’s villain… or could both be villains?!
Steven Spielberg was originally set to direct this sequel which might also be the final film of the franchise. It’s a shame he isn’t directing as he directed the previous 4 films. He is still onboard this film as a producer, alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel. Even if Indiana Jones 5 isn’t the final ever film of the franchise, It will be Harrison Ford’s final fling. John Williams will return to compose the music for the film.
Mangold is also involved he wrote alongside Jez and John-Henry Butterworth. The script has been attempted by several writers, but as Lucasfilm is now part of Disney the chances of learning the plot are zero. We have a hunch the film will see us globetrot around the world, possibly Indie handing the baton over to someone younger?
