Illicit love affair in 1930s pre-world war II Czechoslovakia, as Vertical Entertainment release the official U.S Trailer for indie drama The Affair. Relationships are tested as war grips the world.

The film, directed by Julius Sevcik, is set in 1930s and stars Carice van Houten and Hanna Alström, as best friends who harbour forbidden romantic feelings for one another and follows the pair as their relationship is tested through various obstacles during World War II.

The film was originally named The Glass Room the name of Simon Mawer novel the film is based on. There is a dark tinged noir tone to this film that’s intriguing, suspenseful.

THE AFFAIR begins in 1930s Czechoslovakia, as newlyweds Viktor (Claes Bang) and Liesel Landauer (Hanna Alström) are filled with optimism and happiness in their new home. But all too soon, extramarital temptations bring out their darkest secrets and desires. As Liesel turns to her sensual friend Hana (Carice van Houten) for the passion she lacks in her marriage, Nazi troops enter the country, threatening the Landauer’s lives and the burning desire between the two women.

The film also stars  Claes Bang, Alexandra Borbély, Martin Hofmann  .

The Affair doesn’t have a UK or Irish distributor or even a release just yet. If you live in the U.S, the film will be available On Demand from 5th March.
