Filmpixs Your Streaming Service For Shorts And Documentaries

A lot has changed in the world in regards to how we enjoy film in all its forms. No longer is Netflix and Amazon Prime our only sources, tomorrow they’ll be a new kid on the block, Filmpixs.

17th February Filmpixs will launch their platform, primarily champions short films, in addition to a selection of international feature documentaries, and spotlights engaging social impact stories and new voices in filmmaking from all over the world.

The new global streaming platform from HF Productions, the company behind an established series of global, independent film festivals. Becoming the go to streaming platform to view short films and docs for a worldwide audience.

The service will have over 350 films available at launch, and fresh new content added every week, the Filmpixs  line-up ]will have content from prestige film festivals such as Cannes, Toronto, Venice, Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, Rotterdam and international short film festival award winners. Offering subscribers can go straight to New Releases and Weekly Recommends or browse through Cannes and Academy Award selections, genre collections such as Horror, Drama, Comedy, Music, Children & Family, etc., plus suggestions for thought-provoking and experimental.

Highlights for tomorrow’s launch will include the Czech animated short and Oscar® nominee DCERA (Daughter) from Daria Kascheeva, about a woman trying to reconnect with her estranged father; the 2020 Goya Award multiple nominee EL ESCRITOR DE UN PAÍS SIN LIBRERÍAS (The Writer from a Country Without Bookstores) by Marc Serena, a documentary which follows a man from Equatorial Guinea, who goes on a hunger strike to protest against the Teodoro Obiang dictatorship; and Jan Vejnar’s FIGURANT, which was part of SXSW’s Official Selection in 2020. Also launching on is SIN CIELO (For Your Consideration), which took home the Grand Jury Prize at Seattle International Film Festival. Also on the service will be Tomek Popakul’s Polish animation short, ACID RAIN, which follows a young runaway’s journey to self-discovery and premiered at Sundance in 2019.

In the current climate, we’re also keenly aware of the potential to bring these important narratives to a much wider global audience, and our goal is that FILMPIXS is able to manifest itself as a quality platform of curated short films accessible worldwide.”

Whilst the global pandemic continues to threaten ‘physical’ events further into 2021. Filmpixs  will debut its first virtual screenings in March, as online partner to the Dublin Independent Film Festival.

The streaming service will be available via its own website, filmpixs.com, as well as via the Filmpixs  App, available on iOS, Android, and other formats with a monthly or annual subscription.
