Fear Spreads Like The Plague In Neil Marshall’s The Reckoning Trailer

Fear spreads like the plague as RJLE Films release the U.S Trailer for period based horror The Reckoning. Neil Marshall’s chiller takes us back to witch hunt trials amongst the great plague.

The film made it’s world premiere at last year’s Fantastic Fest back in September (& Frightfest) now it’s time to push it’s theatrical/home release. British filmmaker returning to his horror roots with this one, he’ll always be know for the likes of Dog Soldiers, The Descent, Doomsday, more recently the disappointing Hellboy reboot. He did direct some television for Westworld and The Game Of Thrones.

For this one, we go back to 1600 England, the world is ravaged by the plague. Grace a young woman is accused being a witch and scapegoat for all the troubles of the world. As she’s found guilty by the country’s most ruthless with hunter she must face her inner demons, most of all the devil himself…

After losing her husband during the Great Plague, Grace Haverstock (Charlotte Kirk) is unjustly accused of being a witch and placed in the custody of England’s most ruthless witch-hunter, Judge Moorcroft (Sean Pertwee). Forced to endure physical and emotional torture while steadfastly maintaining her innocence, Grace must face her own inner demons as the Devil himself starts to work his way into her mind.

The film stars Sean Pertwee, Joe Anderson, Steven Waddington and Charlotte Kirk.

The Reckoning doesn’t have a UK release date yet (possibly Shudder UK, sometime 2021). If your in the U.S.A , the film is getting a limited cinema release plus on demand and digital HD from 5th February.
