Clancy Brown To Play Villain In Dexter Revival

The news of Michael C.Hall reviving his popular serial killer Dexter for one more time, brought great excitement to the shows fanbase. Eight years after the series ended, it left many fans severely disappointed largely thanks to finale. This year the hope is correct those wrongs with rights and a 10 part ‘revival’ season, today we learn that season has it’s villain, Clancy Brown.

The Wrap is reporting Highlander/The Mortuary Collection/The Green Mile actor will play the villain Kurt Caldwell. Who is considered the unofficial mayor of small town Iron Lake. This is the small town Dexter now resides after faking his death.

The report itself gives the official showtime description of Kurt – “realized the American dream by going from driving big rigs, just like his father did, to now owning several trucks and the local truck stop. Powerful, generous, loved by everyone — he’s a true man of the people. If he’s got your back, consider yourself blessed. But should you cross Kurt, or hurt anyone that he cares for, God help you.”

This won’t be a reboot of season 8 finale, it is a second chance to end the show in a more favourable way. As production hasn’t started yet on the 10 part limited season, the plot is currently unknown. The series promises to show what has happened to titular antihero (apparently he’s a lumberjack according to the report).

Brown is no stranger to playing a villain.  Playing Kurgan in Highlander along with The Shawshank Redemption playing the nefarious Captain Hadley. He’ll join long list of actors such as Jimmy Smits, Colin Hanks, John Lithgow, Ray Stevenson and Edward James Olmos, who played memorable villains.

Clyde Phillips is set to return as the showrunner once again with the series set for an Autumn release.
