Watch Trailer For Robin Wright’s ‘Land’

Focus Features have released the Official Trailer for Robin Wright’s directorial Feature film debut Land, ahead of it’s Sundance Film Festival premiere next month.

The film also stars Wright herself in the lead role of a woman whose life is tragically altered. She struggles to connect with around her and packs up heads into the forest for a new life.  Living off the grid struggling at first, she must readjust to once again survive.

Wright is no stranger to behind the lens, directing a short film in 2017 as well as a handful of episodes of House Of Cards. This is her big step up and there is many female actors who have successfully stepped up with great critical success . This looks very poignant film which in certain ways reminds me of times Wild (Reece Witherspoon), a woman reflecting and trying to rediscover herself in the great wilderness. Here’s hoping the film doesn’t fall down the cliché trapdoor…

From acclaimed actress Robin Wright comes her directorial debut LAND, the poignant story of one woman’s search for meaning in the vast and harsh American wilderness. Edee (Wright), in the aftermath of an unfathomable event, finds herself unable to stay connected to the world she once knew and in the face of that uncertainty, retreats to the magnificent, but unforgiving, wilds of the Rockies. After a local hunter (Demián Bichir) brings her back from the brink of death, she must find a way to live again.

The film also stars Demián Bichir, Kim Dickens, and Brad Leland.

Land doesn’t have a UK or Irish Release date just yet. This Trailer is the U.S Trailer and that date is 12th February. The film will make it’s World Premiere at 2021 Sundance Film Festival from 31st January [more info/book tickets].
