Icelandic indie comedy Rams (Hrútar )might might not be the first film on the list films to get it’s own English language remake. It now has one. Early next Year Signature Entertainment will release the Australian remake, today we have the UK Trailer...And it smells like sheep!
Sam Neill stars in this one alongside Michael Caton and seems to follow the similar plot to the original. The big difference is the film moved countries plus a bit more upbeat. Looks worthy of a look as we know Australian humour is not scared to go a little dark.
Rams sees Neill and Caton as farmers who haven’t talked to each other for at least 40 years. When disease ravages their livestock, the townsfolk bound together to find a solution, will they?

RAMS is a funny and touching which will have audiences flock to see it due to it’s crowd-pleasing appeal and fantastic performances.
In remote Western Australia, two estranged brothers, Colin (Sam Neill, Jurassic Park) and Les (Michael Caton, The Castle), are at war. Raising separate flocks of sheep descended from their family’s prized bloodline, the two men work side by side yet are worlds apart. When Les’s prize ram is diagnosed with a rare and lethal illness, authorities order a purge of every sheep in the valley. While Colin attempts to stealthily outwit the powers that be, Les opts for angry defiance. But can the warring brothers set aside their differences and have a chance to reunite their family, save their herd, and bring their community back together?
Inspired by the 2015 Icelandic film Hrútar, but very much it’s own piece, Rams was directed by Jeremy Sims (Last Cab to Darwin) and also features performances from Miranda Richardson (The Crying Game), Asher Keddie (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Wayne Blair (The Sapphires).
Signature Entertainment will release Rams in UK Cinemas and on Digital HD from 5th February 2021.
