The long awaited sequel Coming To America has taken a few steps closer today. Whilst we wait for the First Trailer for Coming 2 America, Amazon Prime have released first look images confirming The Zamundan Royal Family is back!
We have been talking about this film for a while, lots of false starts and Paramount’s reluctance to let go of the project. Throw in the current pandemic the film now has a new distributor Amazon Prime and thing now closer to the film being released.
Eddie Murphy returns now as newly-crowned King Akeem with his trusted confidante Semmi(Arsenio Hall) head back to Queens New York. To reconnect and meet the son he never met. Dolemite Is My Name director Craig Brewer is directing this one, hopefully Murphy and Brewer able to pull off another success!

Set in the lush and royal country of Zamunda, newly-crowned King Akeem (Eddie Murphy) and his trusted confidante Semmi(Arsenio Hall) embark on an all-new hilarious adventure that has them traversing the globe from their great African nation to the borough of Queens, New York – where it all began.
Original cast favourites from Coming to America return including King Jaffe Joffer (James Earl Jones), Queen Lisa (Shari Headley), Cleo McDowell (John Amos), Maurice (Louie Anderson) and the motley barbershop crew. Joining this star-studded ensemble are Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, Jermaine Fowler, Bella Murphy, Rotimi, KiKi Layne, Nomzamo Mbatha and Teyana Taylor.
Coming 2 America will be exclusively released by Amazon Studios globally on Prime Video March 5th, 2021.
