Today saw the launch of the 14th edition of Cine-Excess and Danish horror Victim Of Love will make its UK Premiere. Ahead of that premiere we got a look at the film’s International Trailer courtesy of the film’s director, Jesper Isaksen.
The film is described as “disturbing and tense psychological horror-thriller also reminiscent of film noir and impressionism that blends art with styles and genres.” Tackling the issues of memory, lost love and fractured masculinity in a stylish and unsettling manner.
This film is Isaksen’s directorial feature debut. Victim Of Love’s mission is to “make a dense & bloody – yet highly stylised, psychological horror-thriller inspired by Mandy, The Neon Demon and The Shining“. Also throw in a big slice of Lars Von Trier with Norman Nisbet delivering the Colour on this one. He worked several Von Trier films as well as The Neon Demon, amazing film all made with a $60,000 budget (£46,000 GBP).
The cinematography looks visually fantastic. In these hard times for film support everyone especially the independent films like this one . Bigger might bring the bucks, indies reinvigorate the industry, this one will give you the blood and darkness…
