New Image For Benedict Cumberbatch’s The Electrical Life of Louis Wain

Studiocanal have released a new Image for Will Sharpe’s upcoming The Electrical Life of Louis Wain starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the aforementioned British artist.

Who was Louis Wain? He was an artist whose paintings and drawing always consistently featured large-eyed cats and kittens. His work gained him fans worldwide and in his latter years some say he suffered from schizophrenia. Many critics disputed the claims with some saying the illness can be seen in his works.

Cumberbatch stars as British artist Louis Wain in the extraordinary true story of a brilliant man, inspired by both his love of the world and the love of his life Emily, played by BAFTA nominee Claire Foy. Famous for his distinctive paintings of cats that inspired hearts and minds around the world, Louis Wain is a loveable inspirational hero with a courageous and infectious spirit, who saw the world in a unique and delightful way throughout his long life full of adventure, inspiring people to do the same.

The film will also star Claire Foy, Andrea Riseborough and Toby Jones.

There is no exact UK or Irish release date for The Electric Life Of Louis Wain. Studiocanal have confirmed the film will be released in the second half of 2021.
