It’s been a long time coming and today Sony Pictures give fans what they’ve wanted, Monster Hunter First Trailer! Milla Jovovich is your ‘Monster Hunter‘, the beasts are massive, the swords are even bigger!
For those who do not know about this, it’s inspired by the 2004 Playstation 2 game The Monster Hunter which was released in 2004. The popular game has spawned many spin-offs but it was 2012 when the idea of a film would be made . Production of the film started in 2018, but further delays and reschedules, throw in Covid-19, now it’s time for the film’s promotion push.
Paul W.S Anderson directs this one after directing all six Resident Evil films, there was going to be only one ‘Monster Hunter’ his wife Jovovich. She plays Lt. Artemis whom with her soldiers are transported with her soldiers to planet where they must slay giant monsters to survive.
The plot is simple like the game was, this looks dumb fun…
Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When an unexpected sandstorm transports Captain Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower. In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures. As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Ron Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.
The film also stars Tony Jaa, T.I. Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta, Ron Perlman, Josh Helman, and Jin Au-Yeung.
Monster Hunter doesn’t have a confirmed UK or Irish Cinema release date confirmed. Still saying ‘coming soon’, expect 2021.
