Sophie Nélisse as Caroline and Adam Brody as Abe Applebaum in The Kid Detective

In Kid Detective UK Trailer Adam Brody Isn’t That Much Of A detective

He’s following the clues, but not taking the hints. Sony Pictures Releasing have released the UK Trailer for The Kid Detective starring Adam Brody, no longer a kid not much of detective.

The film is directed by Canadian filmmaker Evan Morgan making his feature directorial debut. Brody plays Abe Applebaum, a one time celebrated private detective when he was a kid. He made a name for himself with ‘child like’ mysteries, now in his early thirties, he still solves those same old cases in between the hangovers and self pity. When a naïve young woman approaches Abe with a ‘Grown Up’ case to solve the murder of her boyfriend, it’s time to grow up.

A lot of people will know Brody more for his TV work especially The O.C and The Gilmour Girls. However if your fans of genre films he will be equally known especially for Ready Or Not playing Samara Weaving‘s brother in law. Not forgetting his part in Shazam! and soon to be made sequel.

This looks fine, but also leaning on the tedious side. As they say from the Trailer don’t judge a book by it’s cover!

A once-celebrated kid detective, now 31, continues to solve the same trivial mysteries between hangovers and bout of self-pity. Until a naïve client brings him his first ‘adult’ case – to find out who brutally murdered her boyfriend.

The film also stars Sophie Nélisse, Tzi Ma, Wendy Crewson, and Sarah Sutherland.

The Kid Detective will be shown in UK and Irish Cinemas from 20th November.
