In Remi Weekes His House there is no such thing as ‘home sweet home’ as a young couple escape nightmare for another. Today Netflix release the official Trailer for the upcoming British horror as the atrocities of seeking asylum and haunted house chiller clash.
The film stars Sope Dirisu (Gangs of London), Wunmi Mosaku (Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them). They play an young refugee couple who after making a harrowing escape from war-torn South Sudan struggle to adjust to their new life in a small English town that has an unspeakable evil lurking beneath the surface.
We’ve been hearing great things about this film since it’s world premiere at Sundance Film Festival away back in January. A promise to the traditional haunted house film with a twist that their might be a chance to ‘escape’, or at least having the privilege to leave. The film is touching base with Asylum seekers struggles, trapped in the worst accommodation, placed under draconian rules. Makes those people trapped questioning what is worst? The hell they escaped or the one they are in now.
