Joe Keery Is Thirsty For Follows In Spree UK Trailer

Will we ever see the day Covid-19 doesn’t cancel or delay our lives? The cast of Stranger Things will be getting a little restless as they wait for the release of Season 4. Many of the cast have been picking up film other TV roles to fill the gap, Joe Keery is no different with Spree.

The film is a dark, social media inspired thriller about a rideshare driver Kurt Kunkle (Keery) so desperate for fame and attention that he’ll stop at nothing to go viral.

For many young people having a presence on social media it’s important. Others it’s like an obsession, some going as far to try make an career off it especially on Youtube. This film looks to be an satirical look at those obsessions becoming an influencer online by any means…

23-year-old Kurt Kunkle plans to livestream a rampage, as a shortcut to infamy. Coining his evil scheme “#thelesson” he installs a set of cameras in his car and begins streaming his rides. Kurt picks up passengers, only to dispense with them for the pleasure of his viewers… oh wait, he doesn’t have any! Wildly miscalculating the presumed popularity that would come from his lethal scheme, Kurt desperately ups the stakes and tries to make sure his horrific non-event transforms into a viral sensation. In the middle of all this madness, Jessie Adams, a stand-up comedian with her own viral agenda, crosses Kurt’s path and becomes our only hope to put a stop to his misguided carnage.

Explore the underworld of social media this summer with thriller, SPREE, directed by Eugene Kotlyarenko (Wobble Palace).

Directed by Eugene Kotlyarenko, the film also stars Sasheer Zamata, Mischa Barton, John DeLuca, Josh Ovalle, Lala Kent, Frankie Grande with Kyle Mooney and David Arquette.

Spree will be released in the UK and Ireland from 14th August 2020.
