We’ve had a teaser and a Poster and now Netflix drop the Full Trailer for Young Wallander. Every case leaves it’s mark and even the greatest detectives like Kurt Wallander. We’ve seen him in many forms from Swedish actors to British actors playing Swedes. All left their own mark on the character now it’s time to go back to his origins.
Young Wallander promises to be a young, edgy, and modern series that sees Henning Mankell’s iconic detective Kurt Wallander investigate his gripping first case. The story focuses on the formative experiences – professional and personal – faced by Kurt as a recently graduated police officer in his early twenties.
Be interesting to see what hardcore Wallander fans think of this series. Will it capture the slow gritty crime drama that made the original series popular? Will this be a one-off series or we have more seasons possibly leading up to him becoming the detective we know and love? All will be revealed in a few weeks!

Based on the best selling Kurt Wallander novels by Henning Mankell, a modern reimagining of the legendary detective, Kurt Wallander, who must navigate the increasingly violent environment of present-day Sweden. When he is unable to save a teenager from a gruesome attack, Wallander must learn to cope with his guilt in order to solve the crime. The story focuses on the formative experiences – professional and personal – faced by Kurt as a recently graduated police officer in his early twenties.

The English-language drama series is told over six serialised episodes and features both British and Swedish cast.
Young Wallander will launch on Netflix on 3rd September 2020.
