The film side of the Star Wars future might be unknown , it’s television is looking bright. Today we’ve learned that 6 Underground star Adria Arjona is joining the cast of the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Disney+ spin-off.
The actress who has also starred in Pacific Rim: Uprising , Triple Frontier is to take a lead role in Cassian Andor next to Diego Luna. He will off course reprise his role from the film as will Alan Tudyk (K-2SO) and Genevieve O’Reilly (Mon Mothma). Other confirmed cast will include Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and the previously announced Stellan Skarsgard. Jimmy Smits (Bail Organa) and Alistair Petrie (General Draven) are in talks to join and reprise their characters once again.
The official title of the show has still to be decided. Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, is set to write the pilot for the series. Possibly directing multiple other episodes, as well as serving as the series show-runner.
The show is been described as a ‘spy thriller’ which will follow the Rebel agent Andor prior to the events of Rogue One and the early days of the Rebellion against the Empire.
What exact character Arjona will be playing has yet to be confirmed. I have to admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of Rogue One, but that has changed , we’re intrigued to see how this one will go. With Ewan McGrgegor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series, the Clone Wars spin-off The Bad Batch and The Mandalorian it’s a great time to be a fan of Star Wars. The force is strong!
