Watch the Unsettling UK Trailer For Paul Hyett’s Peripheral

Next month Blue Finch Films will take us into the mind bending world with Paul Hyett‘s Peripheral. Today they have released the UK Trailer, which teases an unsettling world awaits, but who is controlling who?

British filmmaker Hyett has taken into 17th Century Witch trials, to werewolves stalk train passengers, war time horror. His latest film sees the director tip toe into the sci-fi horror territory.

For this one Hyett reunites with Heretiks star Hannah Arterton (sister of Gemma) who plays a talented author struggling to deliver a second successful novel. Thanks to her publisher she uses new editing software which has her going head to head with artificial intelligence. Slowly she notices shes been ‘controlled’, but what sinister thing is controlling her?

Bobbi Johnson (Hannah Arterton) is a young literary sensation facing her difficult second novel. Already dealing with a crazed stalker and her junkie ex-boyfriend, Bobbi is convinced by her publisher to use new smart editing software and finds herself going head-to-head with an artificial intelligence determined to write her book for her. As the machine manipulates her work to suit its own nefarious ends, Bobbi begins to realise that she is being controlled in ways far more sinister than she suspected. She may, in fact, be a pawn in a conspiracy of social mind control. Too far down the rabbit hole to turn back, Bobbi must keep writing, fighting her own addictions and hallucinations as she rushes to beat her deadline without selling her soul in the process. This dark sci-fi horror also stars Jenny Seagrove, Tom Conti, Rosie Day and Elliot James Langridge.

Blue Finch Films will release Peripheral in the UK and Ireland from 3rd August on Digital HD. Available from the usual Digital retailers (iTunes, Amazon, Google, Sky and Virgin).
