You don’t have to a fan of war films to know The Dam Busters is considered one of the greatest ever war film. Over the decades film directors have lined up to remake the classic film from Steven Spielberg to Peter Jackson were once connected to direct. We don’t if this film will ever be remade , the original was considered a big blockbuster of it’s time.
In 2018 the real operation that The Dam Busters is based on celebrated it’s 75th anniversary. Studiocanal re-released the British classic film, and they have released a fantastic 40 minute Featurette. In this video you can see how the film was made, whilst we see how modern day films are made, rarely do we hear or see how the older films were…
A much-loved British classic, Michael Anderson’s 1954 drama captures the tension and bravery of an audacious raid on the centre of Nazi Germany’s industrial complex, and the quintessentially English combination of inventiveness and dogged determination. Split into two distinct sections, the film deals first with the fraught, but ultimately successful development of a new weapon by Dr. Barnes N. Wallis (Michael Redgrave). The second and pacier section deals with the mission itself during the British raid on the Ruhr Dams, and its associated costs for the enemy and for the British airmen.
Directed by Michael Anderson, the film starred Michael Redgrave, Richard Todd, Basil Sydney, Ursula Jeans, Derek Farr.
